A cybersecurity threat has been uncovered on LinkedIn, where a recruiter sent a job applicant a public GitHub repo with a hidden backdoor. The backdoor was disguised as a test suite, but actually executed malicious code when dependencies were installed. The repo's commit history and recruiter's profile were borrowed from real individuals, adding to the deception.
