Tech Talk Thursdays

In this Anthropic workshop, engineers Ash Prabaker and Andrew Wilson explain how to build multi-hour autonomous coding agents. They trace the evolution from Claude Sonnet 3.5 to Opus 4.6, highlighting challenges like context rot and self-evaluation bias. They advocate replacing single-loop setups with a file-system-backed Generator-Evaluator (GAN-style) adversarial harness using Playwright.

Shivam Verma from Spotify explains how they use frozen, open-weight LLMs to personalize music and podcast recommendations for 750 million users. They achieve this by turning user streaming histories into foundational user embeddings, which are then projected directly into the LLM's token space via a soft tokenization layer. Concurrently, they represent their 100-million-track catalog as sequences of six tokens called Semantic IDs, allowing the model to naturally predict the next song or podcast episode as the next token in a sequence without full fine-tuning.

A talk by Jen Agarwal explaining how caching strategies can make AI agents faster, cheaper, and more scalable. The video covers practical system design choices, reducing repeated computations, and improving response efficiency in production AI workflows.
