MeitY Launches Param Shakti Supercomputing Facility At IIT Madras
India has launched a 3.1 petaflop supercomputing facility, Param Shakti, at IIT Madras, aimed at strengthening research capacity in high-performance computing. The facility is built entirely in India and hosts the PARAM Rudra supercomputing system, designed by CDAC. It will support research in aerospace, materials science, climate modelling, and more, and has already recorded 80% utilisation since its launch in 2025.
